Which acupressure spots might assist ease stiffness?

Michael Reed proposed two points: GB34 and ST36.

How do the acupressure points work?

According to Modern Reflexology, GB34 “is situated on the side of the leg, right below the knee, slightly in front of the tip of the outer leg bone.” ST36 can be found four finger lengths below the kneecap and one finger width to the outside of the leg. Reed advises massaging GB34 and ST36 vigorously every day to assist reduce muscular tightness.

According to Modern Reflexology, GB34 may also assist treat nausea, vomiting, sciatic pain, hip pain, and jaundice in addition to stiffness. According to Natural Herbal Remedies, ST36 is important for muscular tone, digestion, tiredness relief, and menstrual cramps.

What more can you do to alleviate stiffness?
Aside with acupressure, the National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association suggests obtaining enough deep sleep to allow your muscles to repair. It is also a good idea to keep yourself warm and avoid sleeping in drafts. Taking a hot shower can help relax stiff muscles and improve blood flow. All of these are easy steps that can help alleviate morning stiffness without the need for further medication.
